
Dee Chainey-Jones offers contracting and consultancy services, with recent work focusing on spatial storytelling and immersive experience design for XR. Dee leads The Cultural Futures Hub, a virtual reality community centre hosting VR conferences, exhibitions and events for the cultural sector. She recently launched a mobile-first browser-based XR experience at the Williamson Art Gallery and Museum. Her core offering spans user-centred experience design and engagement strategy. She was co-founder of the #FolkloreThursday digital community project, with a 60k+ audience and featured on the BBC. She spoke about the project for the Library of Congress. With an MA in archaeology, Dee’s domain knowledge encompasses folklore, public archaeology and heritage landscapes. She is the co-author of the Treasury of Folklore book series, featured in The Economist and The Times Literary Supplement. She offers heritage and folklore accuracy consulting, for example working with Royal Mail on their Myths and Legends Special Stamps. Her people and product leadership skills span business development, transformation, innovation, operations and growth-focused change management. She managed a global team of over 200 people. With an ILM-recognised Level 3 certification in business mentoring, she is now a mentor for the UK government’s Help to Grow scheme.
